- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup Crisco shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tbs baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp each nutmeg, powdered ginger, and salt
- About 3 1/2 cups flour
Cream sugar, Crisco, and eggs together. Add molasses. Dissolve baking soda in vinegar then add. Mix spices in flour and add to mix. Chill overnight. Pat cookies out by hand. Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes.
